Double-click Install.cmd and accept the administrator prompt.
Start SOLIDWORKS and open the MightyCad tab in the Task Pane (right side). If it is missing: Tools > Add-Ins > tick MightyCad.
Enter your e-mail and license key, then your AI provider key under the gear icon.

A portable folder that runs in its own window beside SOLIDWORKS and controls it the same way. Nothing is installed and nothing on the PC is changed. Reading large models is slower in this edition.
Unzip the download to a folder you can write to, for example Documents. Keep all files together.
Double-click MightyCad for SOLIDWORKS.exe.
Start SOLIDWORKS. The window shows "Connected to SOLIDWORKS" once it has attached.
Enter your e-mail and license key, then your AI provider key under the gear icon.
Windows will say "Unknown publisher". This version is signed with a test certificate, so Windows SmartScreen may show "Windows protected your PC". Click More info, then Run anyway. To check that the file is the one published here, compare its SHA-256 sum with the one shown above (in PowerShell: Get-FileHash .\MightyCad-0.6.26.zip).
Before you start
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and SOLIDWORKS 2022 or newer.
A MightyCad license key. There is no free trial - request licenses here. One seat works on up to 2 computers.
An API key for at least one AI provider: Anthropic, OpenAI or Google. AI usage is billed by that provider.
Linear static analysis also needs SOLIDWORKS Simulation.
What is new in 0.6.26
Requests start much sooner in the no-admin edition: background reading of the open models gives way the moment you send a request.
Reading a large model has a time limit, so a request no longer waits on it without end.
Stop, New chat and new requests respond at once, also while SOLIDWORKS is busy.
Work Work Work: a new choice under Ask before that asks nothing and works until the job is done.
The reasoning is shown live in every flow, not only in Quick build.
Updating: install the new version over the old one (installer edition), or unzip the new folder and start it from there (no-admin edition). Your settings and conversations are kept.
