Builds parts
Fully defined sketches, extrudes, cuts, revolves, fillets, chamfers, shells, patterns, mirrors, reference planes and Hole Wizard holes (tapped, counterbore, countersink, clearance).
Describe the part, the assembly or the drawing. MightyCad builds it with real SOLIDWORKS features, checks it by measurement, and tells you what it decided.
It works on the model that is open on your screen, with the same features an engineer would use. Everything it makes stays editable in the feature tree.
Fully defined sketches, extrudes, cuts, revolves, fillets, chamfers, shells, patterns, mirrors, reference planes and Hole Wizard holes (tapped, counterbore, countersink, clearance).
Inserts components, adds mates, measures where every component sits, and checks interference. New parts are designed around the components already in place, such as an enclosure around a PCB, battery and speaker.
Manufacturing drawings with key dimensions and GD&T derived from how the part mates in its assembly. Revisions with symbols and table rows. Title blocks filled the way your company fills them.
Changes dimensions, equations and global variables, adds or modifies features, and corrects a built design until it matches an approved picture of the goal.
A drawing, a sketch, a photo, a marked-up screenshot, a PDF or a STEP file becomes a model, with the assumptions it made stated in the result.
Mass properties, measurements and linear static analysis through SOLIDWORKS Simulation. Hand calculations go to an Excel workbook with live formulas and pass / fail checks; requirements go to a project document.
MightyCad looks at what is open in SOLIDWORKS, decides the open values from your design defaults and engineering judgement, and gets to work. It asks only when it cannot go on.
In the panel, in plain language: "An 80 x 50 x 5 mm steel plate with four 5.5 mm holes 8 mm from the edges and 3 mm fillets on the corners." Attach images, PDFs or STEP files if you have them.
Each step runs in SOLIDWORKS as it is written. You read the reasoning and the calculations while it works, can add a comment at any time, and Stop ends the work at once.
After the build it measures: rebuild errors, sketches that are not fully defined, interference between parts. Then it lists what it built, what it assumed, the time and the estimated AI cost.
For a new part or assembly MightyCad draws the finished design while the model is being built. Nothing waits for it.
The first check after a build is done by SOLIDWORKS itself, with no AI in between. An AI review follows only when the job needs one.
Point MightyCad at a folder of your released drawings. It learns how you fill title blocks, number and name files, and revise drawings, and applies that every time.
MightyCad chooses the model per task from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google: a fast one for a look-up, a strong one for a hard design. If a provider is busy, over its limit or loses the connection, the work continues on another.
From "approve every step" to "just do the work". The choice is one click in the panel and can be changed at any time.
| Area | What MightyCad does |
|---|---|
| Read the model | Feature tree, dimensions, selection, geometry, mass properties, measurements and screenshots from any view. |
| Parts | Fully defined sketches, extrude, cut, revolve, fillet, chamfer, shell, patterns, mirror, planes, Hole Wizard holes; dimensions, equations and global variables. |
| Assemblies | Insert components, mates, fix / float, interference check, the position of every component, new parts designed around existing ones. |
| Drawings | Views, key dimensions, GD&T, revisions, title blocks and data cards following company conventions learned from released drawings. |
| Inputs | Text, images (drawings, sketches, photos, marked-up screenshots), PDFs, STEP files, a linked project folder. |
| Engineering | Requirements document (PRD.md), calculations in Excel with live formulas and pass / fail checks, linear static analysis (needs SOLIDWORKS Simulation). |
| Files | Descriptive names, project folder, export to STEP, IGES, STL, Parasolid and PDF, STEP import. |
| While it works | Live reasoning and calculations, a comment box for the running work, a side-question box, Stop, the time and the estimated cost of each request, saved conversations. |
| For other AI tools | An MCP server: the same SOLIDWORKS tools can be driven from Claude Desktop or Claude Code (installer edition). |
| Anything else | A C# script written for the task, shown to you for approval before it runs. |

AI model usage. You enter your own API key and your AI provider bills you for what MightyCad uses. The panel shows the estimated cost of every request.
One measured example on our test PC: an 80 x 50 x 5 mm plate with four holes and filleted corners was built and checked in 46 seconds. Larger designs take minutes.
An AI assistant that works inside SOLIDWORKS 2022 and newer on Windows. You describe a part, an assembly, a change or a drawing in plain language and it builds it with native SOLIDWORKS features, checks the result by measurement and reports what it assumed.
Real features: fully defined sketches, extrudes, cuts, revolves, fillets, chamfers, shells, patterns, mirrors, planes and Hole Wizard holes in the feature tree. The model stays editable like one built by hand.
SOLIDWORKS 2022 and newer on Windows 10 or 11. Linear static analysis also needs SOLIDWORKS Simulation.
No. The installer edition needs them once. The no-admin edition is a portable folder: unzip it and run it; it attaches to the running SOLIDWORKS and shows the same assistant in its own window. It reads large models more slowly.
Models from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google, picked per task. You enter your own API key for at least one provider and that provider bills the usage. The picture of the finished design needs an OpenAI or Google key. The panel shows the estimated cost of every request and stops at a spending limit you set.
199 ILS per named user per month. A seat can be active on up to 2 computers. There is no free trial. AI model usage is billed separately by your AI provider.
You choose. Ask before: every change; deleting, overwriting and scripts (default); scripts only; or Work Work Work, which asks nothing and works until the job is done. In the Manual flow the plan also waits for your approval before anything is built. Stop ends the work at any time.
Yes. It creates drawings with key dimensions and GD&T derived from how the part mates in its assembly, revises drawings with revision symbols and table rows, and fills title blocks following conventions it learns from your released drawings.
